Z10e Electrostatic Headphone Amp + STAX SR-X9000 Electrostatic Earspeakers
Z10e Electrostatic Headphone Amp + STAX SR-X9000 Electrostatic Earspeakers
Please note that STAX SR-X9000 Earspeakers currently take 3-6 months to deliver. When ordering this bundle, we will ship the Z10e when it’s ready (usually ~3-4 weeks) and the STAX SR-X9000 separately when they are available.
Z10e Electrostatic Headphone Amplifier
LTA is excited to announce the Z10e Electrostatic Headphone Amplifier. With all the magic, realism, and 3D soundstage of ZOTL technology, the Z10e delivers one of the best electrostatic headphone experiences available. In addition, the Z10e is a full function regular dynamic and planar headphone amplifier and a 12-watt per channel integrated speaker amplifier.
A single component solution, the Z10e incorporates the acclaimed ZOTL10 power amplifier, a Berning-designed preamplifier, and the LTA control system with three inputs – all packaged in a beautiful aluminum low-resonance case designed by Fern & Roby.
With startling realism, plentiful bass, and gorgeous mids and highs – 3D music seems as if it’s appearing from a silent, black background.
The LED array display and the milled aluminum front and rear panels exude high quality manufacturing, handmade in the USA.

The history of X - THE Ω HERITAGE
What is the ideal electrostatic earspeakers? A fixed electrode which reduces air resistance and the effect of reflection. This electrode also has the high sound transparency. This vision was already found in the metal-mesh electrode of SR-X, which was released in 1970. After that, STAX challenged to realize metal-mesh electrodes for SR-Ω in 90’s again. However, the big metal-mesh electrode was difficult to manufacture. So, the mass production was extremely difficult. This is why SR-Ω was produced in small quantities even though this product has high quality sound.
Evolution to “MLER-3”
20 years have passed since SR-Ω was released. In the meantime, the manufacturing technology of metal-mesh was improved. And through the development of SR-009, the know-how of manufacturing multi-layer fixed electrodes evolved. These factors realized the new flagship “SR-X9000”. “MLER-2”, which was installed in SR-009S, evolved into the four-layer “MLER-3”. An etching electrode and a metal-mesh electrode are bonded using the diffused junction (thermocompression bonding). After 2 generations of STAX flagship models, STAX’s manufacturing technology makes a significant contribution to the stable mass production of big round shaped metal-mesh electrodes. For MLER-3, sound transparency evolved more smoothly than conventional multi-layer fixed electrodes. And the rigidity characteristic resistant to vibration also evolved.
